Technical information

Tura provides:
  • Identical truss sizing and similar self-weight to existing PRT but, due to a better structural design, is easier to rig, has a 25% increase in load capacity at a 40ft span and over 200% more capacity at a 60ft span than its major competitors.
  • Unique completely open bottom design so that fixtures can be installed from either end and without the need to lift the truss or maneuver lamps around legs. The open bottom feature also allows fixtures to be mounted along the entire length of the truss and even across truss to truss connections if needed.  Why should you only be able to hang lamps in 6ft of an 8ft long truss?
  • Multiple fixture mounting options including numerous lamp bar mounting locations and a locking carriage system, capable of supporting industry standard lighting fixtures at a variety of heights, all within the same section of truss.  All fixture mounting options can be retrofitted to the truss by the user, no factory installation required, so the truss’ capabilities can be increased as the production demands and the budget allows.   Start with the basic features and add more capabilities when you want.

  • Option to install an I-beam or other rigging elements inside or even on top of the truss so it can be used for automation, as a video header truss, as a mothergrid truss with pre-rigged hoists, etc.
  • Optional rotating spigot connection to remove the need for large awkward corners and allow the truss to be pre-cambered to reduce deflection on long spans.

  • Multiple leg options including an industry first slimline leg, mounted to each corner using Area Four Industries’ patented toolless Verto connection system.  The slimline legs only require one person to attach or detach, and stack and nest to remove the need for dedicated and unwieldy leg carts.  Legs should be able to live in empty cases, not need their own storage solution.
  • 15% wider wheelbase width than existing PRT to provide greater stability and increased safety when stacking, moving, loading and unloading truss.  All within the footprint of the truss and still 4 wide on the truck.
  • “Warehouse and Transport” stack feature that allows twice as much truss to live in the same space when empty.  Why pay to send empty truck space across the country or lose warehouse space when the truss is not in use?
  • The innovative design incorporates, as standard, a quantity of through and tapped holes on both vertical and horizontal faces to allow a number of retrofittable accessories, such as cable raceways, clevis pin holders, plastic protective bumpers, etc., to be added, moved or replaced by the user.  Need to attach something to the truss, inside or out, or have your own idea of an accessory?  Cool!  Just bolt it or pin it on.  Take it off when you are done or need it elsewhere.
