Higher Load Capacities Longer Spans. Same Truss.
TOMCAT is delighted to announce that they have recently completed new engineering analysis of their
Light Duty 12" x 12" and
Medium Duty 20.5" x 20.5" plated truss, resulting in increased load capacities and longer allowable spans. New data sheets and load tables for both truss can be found on their website at www.tomcatglobal.com.
The increase in capacities and allowable span lengths has been made possible due to the application of newer engineering practices and physical load and destruction testing of the products. TOMCAT Light Duty 12" x 12" plated truss is now engineered for spans up to 50ft (was 40ft) and now has an increase in load capacity of over 28% at a 40ft span. TOMCAT Medium Duty 20.5" x 20.5" plated truss now allows spans of 70ft (was 50ft) and has a massive increase of over 58%
more load capacity at a 50ft span.
The load increases are applicable to all new and existing TOMCAT Light Duty 12" x 12" plated and TOMCAT Medium Duty 20.5" x 20.5"
plated truss products, regardless of age, assuming that they have been inspected in accordance with the relevant TOMCAT truss user manual and been deemed fit for use.
As well as the improvements in capacity and allowable spans the new data sheets provide an industry leading amount of user data with load tables now provided in 5ft span increments, point load data provided up to fifth point loads and for the first time the user is provided with a deflection calculator to allow expected deflection at less than maximum loads to be estimated.
